Obsidian Hollow is built through research, testing, customization, and a frankly unreasonable amount of attention to detail. Formula, scent, packaging, and story are developed as parts of the same experience.
Transparency
The real work, without the invented folklore
Not every product begins as raw ingredients in a beaker. Brittany works with carefully selected bases, then customizes them according to the product: developing fragrance or flavor, incorporating botanicals or cosmetic peptides where they belong, and refining the finished experience through research and practical testing. The value is not in pretending every process is the same. It is in knowing what each formula needs—and being honest about the work.

Research, hypothesis, prototype, test, learn, refine
Begin with the person
Every product starts with a question: what should this do for the person using it? The answer may be a cosmetic goal, a better-feeling routine, or the simple pleasure of something beautiful that works the way it should.
Research the possibilities
Ingredients earn their place. Bases are compared. Cosmetic actives are studied for compatibility and appropriate use. Texture, scent, absorption, packaging, and the experience after application all matter.
Build and refine
The process follows a familiar rhythm: research, hypothesis, prototype, test, learn, refine. Some ideas work immediately. Others technically function but do not feel right—and go back to the bench.
Customize the formula
Fragrance, flavor, botanicals, peptides, and other additions are selected according to the product. Actives are measured, reconstituted when required, and incorporated with attention to the formula rather than added for the sake of a trend.
Finish it in-house
Filling and packaging happen here. So do the labels: designed, printed, laminated, cut, and applied in-house. The object receives the same care as the formula because the experience begins before the container is opened.
Testing and iteration
Used before it is offered
Brittany tests the products herself and evaluates the details that make or break daily use: texture, scent, application, absorption, finish, packaging, and whether the ritual earns a return visit. Personal use guides refinement; it is not clinical testing or a promise that every formula will suit every person.
The Hollow is atmospheric. The work behind it is real.
